Frost Hill Farm Matriarch, Anne E. Amos, 87, dies
(November 30, 1916 - August 26, 2004)

Anne E. Amos, 87, of Edinburgh, Indiana, died on Thursday, August 26, 2004.  Mrs. Amos was president of Amos Investments Corp., served on the board of Amos-Conover Foundation, was a past member and president of the board of Tara Treatment Center, and was a former board member of Johnson County Adult & Child Mental Health Association.  She was instrumental in organizing Edinburgh's Clothe-A-Child program and in the town's development.  A homemaker, Mrs. Amos was a member of Edinburgh Presbyterian Church, Tri Kappa and Delta Gamma sororities, and the United States Trotting Association.

Her daughter, Debbie Cook, operated Frost Hill Farm, located just off of Interstate 65.  A tradition started by her grandfather, Indiana Hall of Fame member Roy Amos, Frost Hill Farm was known for the quality care and attention given to horses at the farm.  Frost Hill Farm closed its doors for business in 1999, to allow Debbie to devote more time Mrs. Amos.

Born in Gary, Indiana, on November 30, 1916, Mrs. Amos was the daughter of Charles R. and Edna Bowell Emley.  She married Maurice Dale Amos on December 30, 1937.  Survivors include a son Robert Lee Amos of Columbus; daughters, Jacqueline Bowen of Elk Rapids, Michigan, Sandra Freeman and Constance Carpenter, both of Chicago, and Deborah Cook of Edinburgh; 14 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband on February 21, 1972.  Condolences may be sent to the family at: 8248 W.
