Janis L. Dever,
76, passes away

Janis L. Dever, 76, Windfall, died Tuesday, Sept. 25, 2007, at
Autumnwood in Tipton after an extended illness.
She was born in Elwood on July 31, 1931, to the late Dwight and Lettie (Maine)
Foreman. She married Jack A. Dever on Feb. 9, 1952. They were married for 50
years before Jack passed away on March 28, 2002.
Mrs. Dever was a 1950 graduate of Windfall High School, a member of Windfall
Christian Church and the Eastern Star of Windfall. She retired Windfall Clerk
Treasury after 12 years and also worked for the Department of Family and
Children Services in Tipton.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Jack Dever; and her
brother, James Foreman.
She is survived by daughter Lisa and husband Ed Tentler; her sons, Michael and
wife Lisa Dever, all of Windfall, and Randy and wife Linda Dever, Converse;
grandchildren, Jenny and John Tuttle, Jeff Dever, Travis Harding, Barkley Dever,
Lauren Dever, A.J. Tentler and Kaitlin Tentler; great-grandchild Olivia Tuttle;
sister-in-law Shirley Foreman, Windfall; nieces, Kim and husband Bob Collins,
Vanessa and husband Jeff Davis, and Susie and husband Jim Ragan, all of
Windfall.
Funeral services were held on Friday, September 28, at Windfall Christian Church, with the Rev.
Carl Roudebush officiating. Burial followed in the Brookside Cemetery in
Windfall.
The family has requested memorials be given in Janis’ name
to the Breast Cancer Foundation.
