Bobby C. Dexter, 72, dies

Bobby C. Dexter, 72, of Paducah, Kentucky, died on Friday, January 7, 2005, after a lengthy illness.  Dexter, a harness horseman and track executive, was also the founder and owner of many trade and technical schools in Kentucky.  At the time of his death, he was the president of the Quality Truck Driving School, which he had also founded.

A member of the U.S. Trotting Association for 40 years, Dexter had owned or bred over 170 pacers and trotters, including the 2-year-old Illinois champion Mo' Gumbo, p, 3, 1:512 ($362,469), and the 2-year-old Indiana-sired champion, Matchbox, 4, 1:592s ($103,666).  He recently sold Theresa Hall and Must Be Winner, both of whom were recent winners.  Dexter was also a general partner and the operations officer of Bluegrass Downs in the 1980s.  Cards may be sent to the family at: P.O.
