Edwin J. Eash, dies

Edwin J. Eash, father of Indiana horseman Don Eash, died Thursday, June 20th at Memorial Hospital in South Bend, IN.  He was born on May 18, 1923, in LaGrange County to John J. and Rebecca (Schrock) Eash.  He married Dorcas Miller on December 24, 1947, in Shipshewana, and she survives.  Also surviving are two daughters, Mack (Becky) Whitmore of Chilton, Wisconsin; and Lee (Karen) Hicks of Muncie; six sons, Glen (Patricia) and Don (Rosie), both of Goshen; Phil of Centreville, Michigan; Leon (Cynthia) of LaGrange; Myron of Wenatchee, Washington; and Paul (Gayle) of Elkhart; a sister, Christy (Ellen) Christner of Shelbyville, IL; 18 grandchildren; and 10 great grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by a sister, Elsie E. Bontrager and a brother, Earnest.

Mr. Eash was a farmer and truck driver and escorted Amish.  He was a member of Shore Mennonite Church and attended Eden Community Worship Center of Topeka, IN.  Memorials may be given to Eden Community Worship Center.
