James F. Elam, 63, dies

WALDRON LAKE - James F. Elam, 63, of Waldron Lake died Tuesday, January 29, 2008, at 9:40 p.m. at his residence.  He had lived at the lake for ten years, coming from Hartford City.

Mr. Elam retired in 2000 as Economic Development Manager with I&M Electric Company after 34 years.  He was a member of the Rome City United Methodist Church.

Jim enjoyed living at the lake. He was a great husband, dad, grandpa, in-law, and friend.

He was born September 15, 1944, in Hartford City, Indiana, to Floyd and Lelia M. (Davis) Elam.  On April 2, 1966, in Hartford City, he married Pauletta A. McIntire.

Surviving are his wife, Pauletta A. Elam of Waldron Lake; two daughters and a son-in-law, Angie & Jeff Stanley of Hartford City, and Monica Elam of New Haven; two grandchildren, Joshua Stanley and Christopher Stanley; three sisters, Peggy Holsten, Paulene Lugar, and Carol Whitesell all of Hartford City; one brother, Charlie Elam of Shirley; his father-in-law and mother-in-law, William H. and Annabee McIntire of Montpelier; two brothers-in-law and their wives, Jerry and Lois McIntire of Salem and Bill and Anette McIntire of Montpelier; and several nieces and nephews.

Celebration of life service was on Saturday, February 2, 2008 at the Rome City United Methodist Church, with Reverend Mike McKinney officiating.
