Dr. Slater Knotts, 81

Dr. Slater Knotts, 81, of Seymour, Indiana, passed away on Thursday, March 28, 2002, at Memorial Hospital in Seymour, Indiana.  Dr. Knotts was a pilot in the Army Air Corps during World War II.  He was a doctor in general practice, prior to specializing in radiology.  Dr. Knotts owned several Standardbred horses later in his life.  Some of his noted performers were Holding Steady, Doc's Hop, Doc's Joy, and Bangaroo.  Over the years, he had horses in training with Dave White, Harold Barnes, and Roger Cullipher.  Born May 13, 1920, Dr. Knotts married Mary Helen DeJarnette on July 4, 1946.  She survives in Seymour.  Dr. Knotts family included three sons, six grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, and a sister.  He was preceded in death by a brother, Dr. H.S.
