Penny A. Krodel, 66, dies
Penny Ann Krodel, 66, Indianapolis died Monday, July 7, 2008. Services were held on July 10, 2008 in the Gothic Chapel at Crown Hill Cemetery.
Penny was employed by Eli Lilly & Co. for more than 20 years, most recently as a Package Literature Writer. Her parents, James L. and Helen L. Whitinger Guffin, and her sister Charlene Heffner precede her in death. Her husband Ronald M. Krodel, brothers Jan and Michael Guffin, and other relatives survive her.
Mr. and Mrs. Krodel owned Standardbred horses for many years. Their horse, BK Bentley, won the very first race ever at Hoosier Park on September 1, 1994. The late Gregg Haston was in the sulky for the historic event. In 1998, they campaigned Studs Hooligan, who was a winner of multiple Indiana Sires Stakes events.
