Victor L. "Vic" Losure

December 13, 1916 - December 10, 2007

90 year old Victor L. "Vic" Losure of Converse, Indiana, died at 6:37 a.m. on December 10, 2007 at Parkview Hospital in Fort Wayne.

Mr. Losure was born on December 13, 1916 in Van Buren to the late Guy R. and Vora (Taylor) Losure.

Victor L. Losure was a Converse High School Graduate and was a United States Army World War Two Veteran.  He was the retired owner of Losure Industries in Converse, Indiana.  Mr. Losure was a life member of the Masonic Lodge #711, a past member of the Elks Country Club, a member of the Converse Church of Christ and the Past President of the Converse Town Board.

He enjoyed flying and was a private pilot, as well as an oil painter.  Mr. Losure was a former director on the board of the Indiana Trotting and Pacing Horse Association (ITPHA), member of the Indiana Standardbred Board of Regulations (now the Indiana Standardbred Advisory Board), and Indiana State Fair Harness Racing Department, as well as an owner, trainer, and driver of Standardbred horses.

Victor L. Losure is survived by two sons- Robert E. “Bob” (Cheryl Ann) Losure, Whitehouse, Texas and Preston Leon Losure, Smyrna, Tennessee.  Four grandchildren and a sister-in-law Jeanie Losure of Marion also survive.

Victor L. Losure was preced in death by his brother William A. Losure and his sister Carolyn Jane Fritch.

Visitation and funeral services for Victor L. Losure took place on Friday December 14th.  In lieu of flowers, please make memorial donations to the Converse Church of Christ, 301 East Wabash, Converse, Indiana 46919.
