Dee Pine, 70, dies

 

Delores J. (Dee) Pine, 70, of Marshall, IL passed away 2:10 p.m. Thursday, March 15, 2007 in Union Hospital at Terre Haute, IN.  She was born April 21, 1936 in Danville, IL, the daughter of Everett and Roberta Martin Powell.  Surviving are her husband, Ronald; a son, Dr. Alan (Rita) Goldstein of Topanga, CA; Three daughters, Roni Dunne of Charleston, IL, Karla (Dr. Will) Schubert of Charleston, IL and Stacey (Charlie) Adams of Kansas, IL; nine grandchildren, Evan Goldstein, Grant Goldstein, Ava Goldstein, Lori Nees, Jennifer Weinberger, Ryan Pine, Jessica Pine, Juston Spittler and Tannor Spittler; great-grandchildren, Lyle Weinberger, Lucy Weinberger, Camron Nees and Carter Nees; step grandchildren, Mathew Schubert, Jon Schubert, Andrew Schubert, Brittany Rhoades, Jessica Dunlap, Betsy Adams and Cody Adams and a brother, Everett Eugene Powell of Danville, IL. She was preceded in death by a grandson, Jon Athey in 1989; a granddaughter, Jacalynn Spittler in 1985 and two sisters, Edythe and Margaret.

 

She was an avid bowler and a member and past President of the Marshall Women's Bowling League. She was a serious mushroom hunter and loved to fish and had taught her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren how to fish.  In addition, she and her husband, Ronald, owned and raised horses.

 

Funeral services were held on Monday, March 19 at Pearce Funeral Home in Marshall, IL, with Rev. David Deal officiating. Burial was in the Marshall Cemetery.  Memorial contributions may be made to the Clara Fairbanks Center for Women of Terre Haute, IN.
