Bruce A. Sickels, 58, dies
WINCHESTER, Ind. --Bruce Alan Sickels, 58, of Union City, Indiana, who was born in Winchester, died Monday, July 3, 2006.
Born November 9, 1947, the son of Harley and Evelyn Harter Sickels worked at Countryside Veterinary Clinic for the last 35 years. Survivors include his wife, Anita; daughters, Jennifer Sickels and Carrie Rottenborn; parents; sister, Macel Kaufman; and brother, Rodney Sickels.
A veterinarian by career, Sickels was also an owner of Standardbred racehorses. Although he and his wife, Anita, owned several horses over the years, his most successful horse was likely Hi Ho. Trained by Dave White, Hi Ho was very competitive in the Indiana Sires Stakes for several years. He finished third in the Aged Horse Trot in 1998.
Visitation, as well as a memorial service, was held on Thursday, July 6. Memorials may be made to the Harter Foundation or Muncie Mission.
