Indiana Downs Claiming Procedure

Information or explanation regarding this procedure MUST be addressed to the IHRC Judges!

Money (revised 06/07/03)

• Any person wishing to claim a horse must deposit any monies associated with their claim with the Horsemen's Bookkeeper in the Racing Office.
• Cash and checks will not be accepted at the receptionist station located on the 3rd floor of the Indiana Downs Grandstand.

Filling out Claim Form

• Any person wishing to claim a horse must go to the Receptionist office located on the 3rd floor of the Indiana Downs Grandstand.  Claims must be filed with the receptionist no later than 30 minutes before the designated race.
• The Receptionist will provide all the necessary forms to be filled out.  The Receptionist is not allowed to assist in filling out the forms.
• Place all completed forms and the transfer and processing fee of $35 in the claiming envelope and seal the envelope.  The Receptionist will mark the time received on the outside of the sealed envelope.  Only cash can be accepted for the transfer and processing fee.
• Security will promptly deliver the sealed envelope to the IHRC Judges.
