NAMING OF DRIVERS POLICY

1.        The racing office will require all entries list three (3) drivers, in preferential order.

2.        There will be an alphabetical listing of drivers available at the entry box and will be given if requested   with telephone entries.

3.        Once the judges have the draw sheet, the first driver listed will be final at scratch time, with the following exceptions:

Drivers changed prior to scratch time by the trainer; and, drivers listed on multiple horses in a race may make their choice of drives.

4.        Entries losing their first preference driver (due to driver choice) will be given the second listed driver, etc.

5.        At scratch time, a driver will be named by the Judges if an entry fails to have an available driver.  The Judges shall keep a daily record of drivers named by them and this record shall be available upon request by the Commission or interested licensees.

6.        If a trainer has submitted a list of drivers, by preference, to the Judges for open drives, the Judges shall honor the list.

7.        If the Judges cannot contact the trainer and if there is no list of preference by the trainer or the entry remains open despite the trainers preference list - then the Judges shall name an available driver that has driven the horse in a pari-mutuel race as indicated by the past performance record in the official program proof.

8.        Should a horse remain open at scratch, despite the execution of each item above, the Judges will compile a list of the top 10 catch drivers at the meet and alternate these choices so no preference is given.
