WHIPPING VIOLATIONS PENALTIES

Classification I

71 IAC    7-3-13 a - Length of whip violation.

                7-3.13 b - Whip may make contact only above and between the shafts (no part of whip may go below the shafts).

                7-3-13 (c) (2) - Whipping after the race.

                7-3-13 (c) (3) - Whipping an exhausted horse or one not in contention.

                7-3-13 (c) (4) - Allowing whip hand to go behind shoulder.

                7-3-13 (c) (5) - Excessive use of whip.

                7-3-13 d - Keep a line in each hand until homestretch.

                                1^st Violation = $50.00

                                2^nd Violation = $50.00

                                3^rd Violation = $100.00

                                4^th Violation = $200.00

                                5^th Violation = $300.00 & 5 day suspension

Classification II

71 IAC    7-3-13 c (1)  Causing visible injury - bleeding and/or welts.

                                1^st Violation = $100.00

                                2^nd Violation = $100.00

                                3^rd Violation = $200.00

                                4^th Violation = $400.00

                                5^th Violation = $600.00 & 5 day suspension
