GEORGE SHOLTY
(1932 - 2000)

George F. Sholty came from Logansport, Indiana.  He drove his first horse, a gift from his great uncle, at Frankfort, Indiana, as a teenager.  He was the seventh driver ever to win more than $4 million in purses, third driver of all time to go over $1 million in a single season, and was one of the top 10% winning drivers in the United States for a decade.
