Indiana Horse Racing Commission
February 23, 2007
Dear Friends:
A few months ago you received a survey which the Indiana Horse Racing Commission asked Indiana University’s School of Public and Environmental Affairs to conduct.
We are very appreciative that 35% of you took the time to respond (an above average rate for a mail survey). The results of the entire survey are now available on our website at www.in.gov/ihrc. Click on the red box “Horseman’s Survey Results” at the top of the page.
A printed copy is also available. Call the office at 317-233-3119 and we will be glad to mail one to you.
Two thirds of the responses indicated that the effectiveness of regulatory efforts in Indiana is either “excellent” or “good.” The Commission staff is very pleased with the results and remains committed to working hard to serve you and protect the integrity of the sport.
By viewing the full report you will be able to see the responses concerning licensing, blood gas and drug testing, as well as impressions of Indiana’s penalties and how we compare to other states.
Again, thanks for responding. We are gearing up for another great year of horse racing in Indiana, and look forward to welcoming you to Hoosier Park and Indiana Downs. I hope you have a successful and safe 2007 racing season.
Sincerely,
Sarah W. McNaught
