Lye Creek Betty [$8.00, $3.20, $2.40] nosed her way to a victory in the featured $10,200 Open pace for fillies and mares at Rosecroft Raceway on Saturday evening.

The four-year-old daughter of Mark Johnathan, co-owned by trainer John Stubbs and William Shaw, made a bold quarter-pole move for the lead and never looked back.  Driven expertly by Tony Morgan, the mare cut quarters of 28.1, 57.2 and 1:26.0 to win in 1:54.3 as the 3-1 second choice on the board.  Lye Creek Betty now has seven seasonal victories from 26 starts and close to $100,000 in lifetime earnings.

Kellytuck Sophie [$6.00, $3.00] was very competitive for second; the four-year-old Cam's Magic Trick mare came first over after the half with Jonathan Roberts in the sulky and closed with a 28.2 final quarter. Bib Roberts trains the mare.

Go Flyin N [$2.20], the beaten favorite, was third with John Wagner in the sulky. The 1-3-2 trifecta returned $38.00.

Tuesday's 12-race card will be highlighted by the $10,200 Open pace.  The Fraternity Pan is eyeing two consecutive victories against similar, and will open on the board as the 2-1 morning line favorite. Brian Burton guided the seven-year-old Artsplace stallion to the winner's circle last week, and will again be at the horse's lines.  The pair will leave the gate from post five in the field of six. Ken Schlotzhauer trains for owner Kelley Rogers.

Arizona Liar, marked at 5-2 early odds, drew post three and will have Victor Kirby in the sulky.  The seven-year-old son of Arizona Jack, owned by Mark King, cut the mile last week in this class to miss by a head against The Fraternity Pan. Jeff Long trains the winner of over $480,000 lifetime.

Mr Thinker (Donnie Russell, 5-1), Desmet (Art Stafford, Jr., 9-2), Dragon Island (John Wagner, 5-1) and Peyote (Jonathan Roberts, 6-1) complete the field.

Post time for Tuesday's card is 5:35 p.m.
